Volunteering with the Australia Red Cross

The Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the world's largest voluntary organisation. Much of the work done by the organisation both in Australia and overseas is carried out by volunteers, whose contribution to the multitude of Red Cross services is invaluable. Each year Rec Cross  volunteers serve more than 200 million vulnerable people worldwide, symbolising The Power of Humanity.

Becoming an Australian Red Cross volunteer

By becoming a Red Cross volunteer you have an opportunity to contribute to the humanitarian efforts of Australian Red Cross at home and abroad. You'll also be providing real support to an organisation that is respected the world over for its outstanding service to humanity.

Volunteering is an integral part of Australian society, with one in five Australians over the age of 15 making a voluntary contribution to the community. Volunteering allows people to make a meaningful and worthwhile contribution to their community.

The Red Cross Philosophy

Red Cross is dedicated to providing quality volunteer experiences.  Volunteering is viewed as an opportunity to benefit the volunteer, the organisation and the community within which they all operate.   Volunteering should be a two way process. Each volunteer has their own individual motivations for volunteering. We try to match your motivations with current volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers from all sectors of the community are encouraged to get on board and get involved with Australian Red Cross Victoria.
